This is the sensor that controls the "check oil" light on your instrument panel. This sensor should turn the "check oil" light on when you are approxinmately 1-1.5 quarts low. If your light does not come on at low oil levels (and your dash light works), your sensor has probably failed. Also, these sensors have been known to leak oil onto the catalytic converters which is a fire hazard. The sensor is located on the right (rear) of the oil pan for MTX and the left (front) of the oil pan for the ATX.
This is a brand new high quality sensor from Ford
The sensor unscrews from the oil pan. Make sure you change this sensor after you drain your oil. We also recommend installing a new low oil sensor gasket when you change this sensor.
This sensor is only avilable from Ford
