Polyurethane Front Sway Bar Bushings 86-07

Description

Polyurethane Front Sway Bar Bushings 86-07

You may find that when you go over a bump that you hear a clunking sound or creaking sound up front. One area that is often neglected is the swaybar bushings. These bushings are the pivot point for the sway bar. If the bushings are worn, the swaybar moves around as it tries to pivot which can cause erratic handling of the car. You will need to replace your swaybar bushings any time you change swaybar diameters, and we recommend inspecting or replacing the swaybar bushings during a clutch job (or rack replacement) since they are much easier to replace at that point. New swaybar bushings will help restore the responsiveness of your steering that you may have lost.

Enegry Suspension Poly bushings are made From Hyper-Flex and help to reduce body flex.

Tech Notes

Includes 2 front sway bar bushings.

Bushings are black or red polyurethane.

The red bushings tend to squeak and need to be greased with a lithium grease. The black ones are graphite impregnated and need little to no greasing.

These bushings feature a location to add grease.

To replace your front sway bar bushings you will need to drop the rear of your subframe to install.

Applications

1986-2007 Taurus (all motors)

Unscrew the straight grease fittings that come on these, and replace with 90 degree fittings. Then you will have plenty of clearance to grease them on the car. These bushings can be installed without lowering the subframe if you have the Gen III subframe bushing upgrade. I can't comment on that for cars with stock or aluminum SFB's. It's helpful to have a ratcheting combination wrench. The fit was perfect on my car, no modifications required. They perform very well and are a big improvement over the stock sway bar bushings...

These bushings do their job well. I have not had any squeeking thus far. Note that the metal fittings do not fit the car directly and in order to make sure it clears the subframe bushings, the bottom (one that is higher than the front part of it) needs to be pushed all the way up. Once tightened down it works fine. Also, the oil fittings are pretty much useless on our cars because there isn't enough room to put an grease gun on it unless you have the subframe lowered enough...
