To get more power out of your Contour you need to get more air in. Our Big Bore Lower Intake Manifold (LIM) does just that.
SHO Source successfully brought back the Big Bore LIM for a second run and we have a limited number of extra bored out LIMs. The good news is you no longer need to send in a disassembled LIM or wait for a group buy run. The bad news is we will be discontinuing this product once these LIMs are gone.
The first run of LIMs were preassembled by SHO Source, however, this clearance sale is selling the Big Bore LIM as a kit (at a lower price). The bored out LIM has the primary ports to enlarged to 34mm and secondary ports to 37mm using a CNC mill so you get the most accurate and reproducable finish. We also laser cut new stainless steel butterfly plates for the secondary ports to fit the 37mm bore diameter. Our manufacturing process ensures all the ports are done the same and fit perfectly unlike others who use stock plates or port out the bores by hand. The kit includes a bored out LIM along with new stainless steel plates and stainless steel screws for the plates. You will need to disassemble and transfer your butterfly rods over to the bored out LIM and reassemble.
SHO Source no longer sells fully assembled LIMs due to the difficulty and risk in disassembling the LIM.
To disassemble the LIM, first remove the screws holding in the plates. Carb or brake cleaner helps break up the carbon deposits so you can remove the screws. Once the plates are removed, you need to remove the small soft plugs from the bottom of the casting so you can remove the detents and springs. Again, if there is carbon and deposits, use carb or brake cleaner to help remove the detents. Once the detents are removed, you can unbolt the spring return and slide the rods out of the casting. The rods are fairly fragile, so be careful and use plenty of carb or brake cleaner to help free up the rods. If you have any questions on disassembly, let us know and we can help talk you through the proceedure.
You can see the before and after pictures below.
An SVT LIM must be used for your core so the rods are sized to fit the new plates.
