The most common failure point on an SHO clutch is premature wear of the pressure plate fingers. The wear on the pressure plate fingers comes from the Throw Out Bearing (TOB) pressing and sliding on the fingers when you push in the clutch.
In 2000, SHO NUT Performance came up with a solution to reduce pressure plate finger wear. By replacing the steel rolling elements of a stock Throw Out Bearing TOB with lighter ceramic elements, pressure plate finger wear has been reduced by up to 80%. On the outside the SHONUT Performance Ceramic TOB looks just like a stock TOB except for the red or gray synthetic grease you will see. But trust us; inside the ceramic elements will extend the life of your pressure plate fingers and therefore extend the life of your clutch.
The SHO NUT Ceramic TOB can be used with any clutch, but is highly recommended for use with any performance stage 2-4 clutch. Some additional TOB noise (rattle) may be noticed with the ceramic TOB, but this is normal.
